Discover how to achieve everything you’ve ever wanted

In this series I’ll explain how you can obtain everything you’ve ever wanted. And how you can start using them right away to improve your life!! Whether you want more wealth, a job you love or just generally to be happier, you can have it all, but it all starts with your thinking.

We all want to succeed at something, and we want to be happy doing it, that’s no secret. For some this means being a good parent, for others it means climbing the corporate ladder, and others it’s having lots of friends. Yes success looks differently to everyone. But no matter what you want to achieve, your thinking is the key.

Like many others I made the mistake of thinking brains and hard work was the key to a happier, more successful life. But I was wrong!! While all these things certainly do help, they’re not the secret ingredient, your thinking is!

In this article I’m going to spend some time setting up your expectations, because while you will see some immediate changes, this isn’t a quick fix. By understanding where most people go wrong you’ll be more prepared to handle obstacles when they arise.

What’s holding you back?

If it’s so easy to succeed using our thinking then why doesn’t everyone do it? Good question.
The most common reasons I’ve found that prevent people from using their thoughts to their advantage are:

  1. A lack of knowledge about how to use them properly, and
  2. A lack of persistence in applying them.

Many people I speak to about using their thoughts to help them succeed most reject my claims, or they try but quit because they don’t see immediate results.

To prevent you from making the same mistakes there’s a few things you need to know before you get started

  1. Keep an open mind. It’s the most important thing I’ll ask you to do. Initially the ideas I’ll be suggesting will be hard to believe and accept. But understand that it’s perfectly normal to have these doubts/hesitations because they’re so different from what you’re used to hearing. But in a way it’s a good thing that they’re different, if you wanted more of the same you wouldn’t change anything at all.
  2. Give it a go. If you want to benefit from the power of your thoughts then don’t brush off my claims without at least trying. And when you do try, try wholeheartedly. If your attempts are only half-hearted you’ll see no benefits.
  3. It takes time. ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’, and neither were you. Accept that you can make immediate changes to your thinking styles, just don’t expect immediate results. Remember your thinking habits have probably been the same for years, and habits take time to change. How long it takes depends on how vigilant and persistent you are.
  4. The benefits are enormous. Take some solace that what I’m suggesting to you has worked for myself and many, many others. And it can work for you too. And remember you’re not losing anything here. I’m not asking you to make enormous sacrifices or take huge risks. And at the very least you’ll feel happier and more energised after trying.

Master your thinking

When I tell people they can have anything they want using their thoughts the most common responses I get is “That wouldn’t work, it’s too easy”.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking mastering your thoughts is easy. You’ll get frustrated quickly if you do. It may sound simple, but learning to master your thoughts can be very challenging. Especially for someone who’s created a habit of toxic thinking.

For example, thinking you’ll never:

  • Amount to anything,
  • Achieve everything you want.

It takes patience, commitment, and like any skill worth having, hard work. But as you improve, you’ll find the most difficult challenge was adjusting to it.

So start by managing your expectations, don’t expect to be a master so soon. You’ll have some setbacks, it’s to be expected. I’m telling you this first because this is where most people fail, they expect too much too soon. By understanding this you’ll be better prepared to face the obstacles that stand in your way.

And if you stick with it, I’ll show you how much of a benefit your thoughts can have on your life.

Your thoughts are a choice

To kick us off, one of the first things you must understand is your thinking is a choice. They aren’t just words circling around your head that you have no control over. You give power to thoughts the more you focus on them.
There’s a lot in life we don’t have the luxury of choosing:

  • Place of birth
  • Upbringing
  • Genetics
  • Etc

With all these things out of our control it makes sense that we take advantage of what we can control to live an abundant life. So let’s break this down and make it as simple as possible so you can start benefiting from them.

Every day the decisions you make are in response to if something’s helpful or harmful. It makes sense that what’s helpful to your life you’ll promote more of, while trying to reduce what’s harmful. For example you work a job, exercise and eat healthy because it’s helpful. You don’t take drugs or eat only junk food because it’s harmful…you see where I’m going.
Now apply the helpful/harmful approach to your thoughts. Some are helpful, others are harmful. It makes sense to promote the helpful thoughts to help your life, and reduce the harmful which are only a hindrance.

If you make the mistake of neglecting what you’re thinking about then you relinquish the power you have to make real, effective changes in our lives (But more on this later).

Key takeaways

  1. You can have whatever you want using your thoughts.
  2. Your thoughts are powerful, you use them unknowingly every day. Aim them in the right direction to help you succeed.
  3. Don’t reject these claims without trying, you’ll be glad you did.
