The most important ingredient for creating wealth and success

There’s a secret ingredient to wealth and happiness. And it’s something we all possess but rarely use. It’s so vital that I’d say it’s the difference between:

  • being happy or unhappy
  • success and failure
  • a wealthy life or an ordinary one

All over the world so much value is placed on things like intelligence, education and hard work. And while they’re important, we’ve forgotten the most important contributor…how we think!! How we think influences our intelligence, education and hard work. It’s how average people achieve all their hopes and dreams. It’s the forgotten ingredient in creating wealth.

Think about people who are enjoying a wealthier life than you, are they any smarter, educated or hard working than you are? If not, then ask yourself “What do they have that you don’t?”

More often than not, the difference that separates those who create great wealth from others is their thinking. They’re no smarter, educated or more hard working than the average person. But they do excel with how they think. They channel their energy through their thinking so they’re efficient.

Read on to see why your thinking is far more important than:

  • Intelligence
  • Education
  • Natural talent
  • Hard work
Intelligence

Have you ever thought you couldn’t do something because you weren’t smart enough? If you answered yes, don’t fret. Intelligence is one of the largest contributors to why people think they can’t create great wealth. But is intelligence necessary to create wealth?

Let’s clarify a few things first. When we refer to intelligence we’re referring to a person’s IQ. So when you think that you’re not smart enough, what you’re actually thinking is my IQ isn’t high enough. And while IQ may be important for some jobs it holds little relevance in creating wealth. A persons IQ doesn’t take into consideration:

  • emotional intelligence
  • practical intelligence, or
  • creativity

These 3 qualities are of far greater value than a person’s IQ. If IQ was the greatest reason for creating wealth then only geniuses would be wealthy, right? But we know that’s not true.

A high IQ doesn’t guarantee you success or wealth. And it doesn’t mean you’re not intelligent. Some of the wealthiest, most successful people in the world don’t have high IQ’s, but they’re intelligent. They excel with their creativity, as well as with their emotional and practical intelligence.

So don’t use the excuse of lacking intelligence for not being able to create wealth. How you use the intelligence you have is far more important than how high your IQ is.

Education

People spend years of their lives and thousands of dollars on “getting a good education”, because they think it’ll help them gain great wealth.

I’m embarrassed to say, I too thought this way, but honestly all my Bachelors and a Master’s degree left me with was a ton of debt.

While getting an education is beneficial to getting you a job, it’s not crucial to obtaining wealth. Some of the wealthiest most successful people in the world don’t have a college/university degree.

Here’s a list of just a few:

  • Steve Jobs
  • John Rockefeller
  • Henry Ford
  • Winston Churchill

These men changed the world, they were extremely wealthy and some didn’t even finish high school. What does that tell you about education?

Now I’m not saying education isn’t important. But there isn’t anything you can’t learn by reading a book, searching the internet or YouTube on whatever subject you want to learn about. If your desire is strong and you work hard you can self-educate yourself about anything.

Natural talent

No matter how talented a person is, talent without hard work will accomplish nothing. No amount of natural talent will help you create wealth. In fact if anything I’ve only ever seen it to be a hindrance. Because those who are naturally talented often think that they don’t need to work hard. As a result those who place greater value on hard work become the more talented and leave the naturally talented in their dust.

“There’s no talent here, this is hard work. This is an obsession. Talent does not exist, we are all equal as human beings…I am not talented, I am obsessed” ~ Conor McGregor

Hard work

If there’s one thing you take from this article let it be this. Your thinking influences hard work!!  But only a combination of both will guarantee you wealth and success. They make intelligence, education and talent almost irrelevant.

Don’t get me wrong nothing worth having can be achieved without hard work. It’s just that in our society, we place far greater value on hard work than on thinking. But it’s our thinking that dictates, guides and motivates the hard work that we take. So your thinking is your greatest contributor for wealth and success.

Think of it this way, imagine your thinking is your brain and your hard work is your body. If your brain sets poor goals then your body will carry out poor goals. But it’s not your body’s fault, it’s just following orders. So a poorly thought out goal will never help you create great wealth no matter how hard you work.

You’ll probably find that no matter the task when you put your mind to it and work hard you can accomplish any and all of your goals. So if it’s not the size of your goals that needs changing, then it must be the size of your thinking. If you set small goals you’ll accomplish small goals, if you set larger goals you’ll accomplish larger goals.

If you combine effective thinking with hard work there’s no reason why you can’t create great wealth and achieve all of your dreams. But what if it’s too hard? If you really want something remind yourself nothing worth having comes easy.

Key takeaways

  1. How you think, is more important than intelligence, education, talent and hard work
  2. Intelligence is more than just a persons IQ.
  3. A combination of your thinking and hard work is your ticket to wealth and success.
